Yamaha U2 Vertical Piano

Designed for the experienced musician, Yamaha U2 “Professional Upright” pianos are made in Japan and feature outstanding tone, touch and durability. A perennial favorite among discerning pianists, U2 upright pianos, at a height of 50 inches, offer outstanding musical performance, setting the standards by which many other upright pianos are measured. The U series comes in different heights (length of strings), and is the very top of Yamaha’s vertical piano line.

This particular U2, manufactured in 1978 (during the 20-year apex of Yamaha’s piano production from 1970-1990) has the warmest tone of any vertical piano in our sales inventory. It nonetheless hasn’t sacrificed any clarity or balance of warmth-to-brightness in the process. Truly extraordinary! The touch is light-to-barely-medium.
