Yamaha M500 S Vertical Piano

This Yamaha M-500-S, at 44” tall, is is a beautiful pre-owned instrument; a great example of their signature console pianos, boasting an elegant French Provincial design, with its matching bench, in a lovely rouge cherry wood finish. This high-quality model is great for homes as it produces a tone that is both warm and bright and not overpowering. It also features a mute rail engaged by a practice pedal which mutes the piano’s tones to a very quiet volume level, when necessary.

This M-500-S is in beautiful playing condition and was purchased new by its original owner in 2001 and was very well maintained. It would be an excellent instrument for a beginner-to-intermediate player.

Console pianos are a great option for any pianist looking to upgrade from digital pianos or keyboards. The console is the most common size for a vertical piano and equips “compact action” with shorter hammers than a larger upright piano. Due to the action’s placement over the keys, rather than under (as in a spinet piano), a console typically plays better than a spinet. The console piano is a few inches taller than a spinet, but shorter than a studio model.
